Castleturvin House is a purpose built, two story nursing home, set in rural surroundings with a pleasant outlook over the neighbouring countryside. Surrounded by eight acres of land it has plenty of landscaped gardens and an abundance of mature trees.

Opened in August 2001 by Carmel Killeen, Castleturvin House provides a way and style of life comensurate with dignity and independance of spirit. Castleturvin House is a home in every sense of the word. People belong but have the same comfort and privacy and they had in their own home.

The rooms, a choice of spacious single and double rooms each with ensuite are all tastefully decorated to a very high standard and offer all modern facilities. Each bedroom has a door leading to courtyard or balcony.Each bedroom is equipped with direct dial private telephone, television, nurse call bell, smoke detector, and emergency light- ing. Wi-Fi is also available. There is underfloor heating and for added com- fort each guest can control the heating in their bedroom.

Athenry Town

Athenry (meaning the King's Ford) is an ancient market and historic town, set in the middle of the fertile plains of East Galway. It was established as a Market town in the 13th Century and its streetscape, reflects it's medieval past, with narrow streets and town walls.
